I don’t think I’ve ever met a group of people as image conscious as Mormons. Sometimes that trickles down to individuals, sometimes it doesn’t.
Reading this article on those Mormon ads, which are meant to portray Mormons as normal, cool and hip, made me think of a perfect way to improve your image if you are Mormon…
DON’T BE MORMON!
I commented on those very same ads here
From the Salt Lake Tribune article:
Why are individual congregants sometimes reprimanded for doing the exact same things our church public relations department would like the rest of the world to view as charming and alluring?
Perhaps rather than analyze those ads, it best to view their counterparts, I am an Ex Mormon

Come to one of our meetinghouses on any given Sunday and you d be hard-pressed to find a group of faithful like those represented in the And I m a Mormon advertising blitz. But really is there much difference between people joining my religious ranks because of these well-crafted advertisements and those who join because they had a little crush on the cute and kind missionary who taught them?

Image conscious. Definitely. To the point of driving me insane!
